Couples Therapy
$200/ 53 minutes
Restorative Counseling Co provides evidence‑based, relationship‑focused therapy for partners seeking deeper connection, improved communication, and lasting change. We service couples virtually in Maryland in order to facilitate flexible scheduling.
In couples therapy, I draw on evidence‑based strategies from the Gottman Method—including the Sound Relationship House framework, communication skill‑building, and conflict‑management tools—to support partners at every stage of their relationship. I integrate these approaches with nervous system‑informed and IFS‑informed principles to help couples understand what’s happening beneath the surface.
Often, communication breaks down not because partners don’t care, but because one or both people are dysregulated and different “parts” become activated. When we can identify these parts and understand the nervous system’s role, we create space for clearer communication, deeper connection, and more compassionate repair.
Couples counseling sessions are tailored to each relationship’s unique strengths and challenges.
Therapy Intensives
Currently not scheduling
A therapy intensive is a focused, time‑condensed form of counseling in which an individual or couple participates in several hours of therapy per day over one or multiple consecutive days, rather than attending traditional weekly sessions. This immersive format allows clients to work deeply on specific concerns—such as trauma, relationship distress, grief, or feeling “stuck”—with fewer interruptions and greater momentum. By spending extended, uninterrupted time in therapy, clients can move more quickly into meaningful insight, emotional processing, and skill‑building than is often possible in standard 50‑minute sessions, making therapy intensives an effective option for people seeking accelerated progress or needing flexibility in scheduling
Restorative Counseling Co approaches therapy intensives utilizing key components of integrated somatic parts work. Integrated somatic parts work is a trauma‑informed approach that combines body‑based (somatic) therapy with parts‑based models such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support deep, lasting healing by working with both the mind and the nervous system. Rather than focusing only on thoughts or insight, this approach helps clients notice how emotions, memories, and protective “parts” show up as physical sensations in the body, allowing healing to occur at a felt, embodied level. By gently engaging the body while building compassionate relationships with inner parts, somatic parts work can reduce overwhelm, support nervous system regulation, and help resolve trauma that may remain “stuck” beyond what talk therapy alone can reach.
